Profile: Prof. Hüseyin Bilgin's research activities are in the field of response, analysis, and design of reinforced concrete structures, with emphasis on problems of geometrically and material nonlinear behavior, aiming at evaluating the ultimate strength of members, connections, and structures. Specific research fields in which he has been actively involved; a) Nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete members, b) Seismic performance assessment of RC and masonry buildings, c) Static and dynamic structural stability. He is also the regional editor of the Journal ofResearch on Engineering Structures & Materials (2015-2016) , the review editor on the Editorial Board ofComputational Methods in Structural Engineering, part of the journal frontiers inBuilt Environment (2018 - ) , and the academic editor on the Editorial Board ofAdvances in Civil Engineering (Hindawi).

Assoc. Prof. Ahmad Safuan A Rashid

Profile: Associate Professor Ahmad Safuan A Rashid obtained his PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering from The University of Sheffield in 2011, with a Malaysia Higher Education Scholarship. Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair for the School of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is also the Head of Geotechnical Research Group and Fellow of Centre of Tropical Geoengineering, providing research and consultation work on geological and geotechnical engineering for the tropical area. The major research area of Associate Professor Ahmad Safuan is on the ground improvement technique and slope engineering. He has published more than 141 referred journal papers. Associate Professor Ahmad Safuan has secured several competitive research grants over RM 4 million and has been involved in several consultation work worth RM 2 million from 2005. He has been involved with several soil exploration and monitoring projects such as under Plus Sdn Bhd, Malakoff - Independent Power Plant, Tanjung Bin and Gunung Pulai under Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Johor. He has successfully supervised 4 PhD to their completion and currently is supervising 15 PhD students.


Assoc. Prof. Jiwei Wen

Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, China

Profile: Dr. Jiwei Wen is an Associcate Professor in Civil Engineering, specializing in the fields of Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Trenchless Technology and Drilling & Tunneling Engineering. He holds B.A. and Ph.D. from Jilin University in 2009 and 2014. Later, he worked at Dept. Geological Engineering, College of Environment and Civil Engineering, Chengdu University of Technology. In the meantime, he has finished postdoctoral researches at the State Key Laboratory of Geohazard Prevention and Geoenvironment Protection (SKLGP), Chengdu University of Technology. Moreover, he studied at Trenchless Technology Center at Louisiana Tech University as a Visiting Scholar from 2017 to 2018, USA. Now, he changed his work to Dept. Underground Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, China. So far, he has presided over more than ten scientific research programs, main including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Application Fundamental Research Programs of Sichuan Science and Technology Agency, National Key Laboratory Open Fund Projects, etc. In addition, he has published more than 20 papers, and authorized 10 national invention patents and 25 utility model patents. Furthermore, he is the reviewers of many international academic journals which are collected by SCI and domestic academic journals, such as Journal of Cleaner Production, Petroleum Science, Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, Water Science and Engineering, Journal of Cluster Science, Coal Geological & Exploration, and Drilling Engineering , etc.


Assoc. Prof. Fengming

Dalian Maritime University, China

ProfileDr. Du's main research areas include energy-saving materials and quality control. He is "Million Talents Project" talent in Liaoning Province, "Dalian Youth Science and Technology Star", "Dalian High level Talent - Youth Talent", and received one Liaoning Natural Science Academic Achievement Award. He also led one special project on vehicle and ship power under the National Defense Science and Industry Bureau, one key project under the Liaoning Natural Science Foundation, one joint fund for shipping in Liaoning Province, one general project under the China Postdoctoral Fund, one innovation support program for high-level talents in Dalian, and two special funds for basic scientific research and business expenses of central universities. Dr. Du has participated in more than 10 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the pre research project of the Ministry of Equipment Development, the project of the National Defense Science and Industry Bureau, the high-tech ship project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and horizontal projects. He published over 50 academic papers, retrieved over 40 by SCI, and granted 1 invention patent. He is the senior member of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, and serves as a reviewer for journals such as Journal of Materials Processing Technology, The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Steel Research International, and International Journal of Engine Research.
